Samantha Weinberg
Samantha Weinberg was born in 1966 and educated at St Paul’s and Trinity College, Cambridge. She has worked as a journalist in southern Africa from 1989-91. She has written for every British broadsheet and numerous weekend supplements and glossy magazines. For two years, she was features editor of Harpers & Queen. Her first book, Last of the Pirates – the Search for Bob Denard, a travel-biography of the notorious French mercenary, was published by Jonathan Cape and Pantheon (US) in 1993. A Fish Caught in Time – the Search for the Coelacanth (Fourth Estate, 1999) was an international best-seller and is currently in development as a film. Pointing From the Grave (Hamish Hamilton, 2003) won the CWA Gold Dagger for Non-fiction. She is married with two children and lives in Wiltshire.
