Jemma Kennedy
I was born in 1971 in Leeds, raised in Dorset and socialised in London, Shropshire and various alternative communities around the UK. I have lived in Sydney, London and New York, and spent my twenties working in the music business. My first novel Skywalking was published in 2001 by Viking Penguin. I am currently based in Manchester where I teach Creative Writing at Manchester Metropolitan University. My first play Honesty Bar was recently a runner up in the Royal Exchange Theatre’s Write 2 Festival resulting in a new commission for 2005. I am also the literary editor of female fanzine Hey Ladies.
