| Ian Hamilton Ian Hamilton wrote biographies of the poets Robert Lowell and Matthew Arnold and the novelist J.D. Salinger. He also published poems and two books of essays, and was the editor of the Penguin Book of Twentieth-Century Essays. From 1974 to 1979 he edited the New Review. Ian Hamilton died in December 2001. |
