Elsie Burch Donald
Elsie Burch Donald was born and grew up in Tennessee, a member of one of America’s oldest families, the Polks. Educated at Sweet Briar College in Virginia and at Edinburgh University, she worked as an editor in London before becoming an author. Her books include, The French Farmhouse, a study in rural French architecture; and two novels: Nashborough and A Rope of Sand. She divides her time between London and southwest France, and is currently at work on a novel set in Cambodia.
